GPRA partnership with SA Tag

SA TAG RUGBY

We are excited to announce that Girl Power Rugby Academy will be partnering up with The Tag Rugby® Association to open up opportunities for all girls wanting to explore different codes of rugby. GPRA will be hosting a tag rugby program that will be dedicated to learning the game of tag. Tag rugby is a great stepping stone for girls wanting to play contact rugby because they learn fundamental rugby skills like passing, catching, spatial awareness and pre-contact techniques that will transform them into phenomenal contact rugby players.

The Tag Rugby® Association is a non-profit, public benefit organisation registered with the Department of Social Development in South Africa and an Associate Member of SARU. Tag Rugby® is endorsed by SARU as a grassroots development tool to be used in South Africa. Working strategically with SARU, Tag Rugby®’s key focus is on increasing the number of rugby players and growing the supporter base for rugby in South Africa. The Tag Rugby® Association is also proud to have a number of top Springbok players as ambassadors, donating their time to promoting the game and inspiring the youth.

Tag Rugby® is extremely excited to be working with Zoe Naude and Girl Power Rugby Academy at False Bay Rugby club. Women’s rugby is a key strategic focus area for the Tag Rugby® Association as we look to grow the game in South Africa. Tag Rugby is the ideal vehicle to assist South African Rugby as we all look to develop the participation levels of ladies in rugby in our country.

We are very excited to partner with Zoe Naude and other key stakeholders in Women’s Rugby to achieve our strategic goals.

We look forward to assisting Zoe Naude and her team.
Tag Rugby® director Stuart McConnell
