People of Cape Town: we are excited to announce a new and exciting opportunity for girls in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. On the 24th of March Girl Power Rugby Academy, in affiliation with False Bay Rugby Club, launched the first ever girls rugby academy in the Southern Suburbs.
A lot of thought, time and discussion led to the creation of Girl Power Rugby Academy, and to provide a safe conduit for girls to learn the game and to be nurtured into full blown players.
By hosting a girl-only rugby academy focusing on the foundational elements needed to grow successful girl performance, Girl Power Rugby Academy will be providing one of the first safe havens for girls aged 6 to 18 to learn and play the game of rugby, a space previously reserved for boys.
